365 Days of Type Inspiration in Gorgeous Analog Form

  • by

Make room on your workspace: Typodarium 2026 has dropped! Like each previous compendium, the 365-day tear-off calendar is a beautifully-packaged ode to emerging type designers, type experimentation, and why type design is the heart (yet often overlooked) of visual communication.

Typodarium 2026 showcases modular typefaces, featuring a new modular font every Sunday. There’s a complexity beneath the seemingly simple geometric experiments that Josef Albers (Architype) and Herbert Bayer (Universal) began a century ago. Designers of the Bauhaus were grappling with the role of design in a changing world order. Today, in this era of incredible technology, possibility, and risk, designers are returning to the source, asking questions about design’s role, exploring what it means to approach the possibilities as a creative with a particular set of skills and knowledge. That the publishers chose this theme makes perfect sense.

The Typodarium calendar has become a trendsetter in the world of typography and is eagerly awaited each year by designers and agency creatives. One hundred years after the Bauhaus moved to Dessau, it showcases new modular fonts every Sunday.

Now, in its 18th year, Typodarium 2026 includes 365 typefaces, designed by 330 seasoned and emerging designers, from 39 countries. Expert commentary is provided by creative director Raban Ruddigkeit (creator of Typodarium), Lars Harmsen (designer and educator), and Julia Uplegger (type designer). Uplegger also led the design and project management. Typodarium 2026 is compact (12 x 8.5 x 6 cm) and comes in a collector’s box.
