Announces HONOR of Malaysia Awards CSR initiative and National Photography Tour
Global leading AI device ecosystem company HONOR today commemorated its fifth anniversary in Malaysia by celebrating the consumers who have played a defining role in the brand’s rise to the top of the local smartphone market share. The milestone was marked at the HONOR of Malaysia 5th Anniversary Gala, bringing together HONOR loyal consumers, fans, partners, photographers, and students. Underscoring the brand’s belief that its success has been built hand in hand with the Malaysian consumers in a highly competitive technology landscape.
The gala recognised consumers whose long-standing support and engagement have contributed to HONOR’s growth since its early days in Malaysia. Outstanding individuals were honoured across eight award categories, reflecting their role in shaping product development, strengthening the HONOR ecosystem and contributing positively to the wider community.
Celebrating Five Years of Growth Journey to Market Leadership at Consumer Appreciation Gala
HONOR’s achievement as the No.1 smartphone and tablet in sell out market share in Q4 2025 marks the culmination of a remarkable five-year journey defined by resilience and consumer trust. This milestone is a direct result of the brand’s relentless innovation and the unwavering support of the local community.
President of HONOR South Pacific, Justin Li noted that the journey was challenging but successful because the brand remained consumer centric. It feels as though HONOR has achieved a decade’s worth of progress in just five years. “Today, it is rewarding to see HONOR become the ‘Pilihan Utama Rakyat Malaysia’. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated community that has stood by us, sharing our products and philosophy with steadfast loyalty,” adds Li.
Li further emphasised that the stability and durability of HONOR’s products are co-created with Malaysians. Rather than being built solely in laboratories, the HONOR ecosystem has been refined through real-world testing and feedback from local Beta users, photographers, and students. Today’s awards serve to honor these vital contributors, whose insights ensure HONOR’s technology continues to meet the specific needs of its users.
Launch of the HONOR of Malaysia Awards Project: Supporting extraordinary Malaysians through Technology
During the gala, HONOR announced the ‘HONOR of Malaysia Awards Project’, a long-term corporate social responsibility initiative dedicated to recognising ordinary Malaysians who have devoted their lives to serving society. The initiative reflects HONOR’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to Malaysia as it enters its next phase of growth.
The project was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, Teo Nie Ching, and President of HONOR South Pacific, Justin Li.
As part of the inaugural phase of this programme, HONOR with its media partners recognised three individuals as recipients of the ‘HONOR of Malaysia’ Award. They are Mohd Adli Yahya, Cikgu Prakash, and Mak Jah. The awards were presented by Dato’ Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, former Ambassador of Malaysia to China (1998 to 2006).
“As HONOR grows in Malaysia, we aim to deepen our roots by evolving from a preferred brand into a pillar of society. Through the ‘HONOR of Malaysia’ vision, we want to support unsung heroes who make quiet yet powerful contributions to society,” said Li.
Nation’s Unsung Heroes: Transforming Lives with Passion and Purpose
Mohd Adli Yahya, founder of the Autism Cafe Project (ACP), established the initiative in 2016 to create a future for his autistic son and individuals like him. To date, ACP has supported more than 100 autistic individuals, providing a safe environment for skills development, independence and inclusive employment, while inspiring families across the country.
Prakash Surriyamurthy or known as Cikgu Prakash, is a full-time tuition teacher who has spent the past 16 years travelling across the Klang Valley by train to teach Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah to secondary school students. Despite being visually impaired, his dedication to education and unwavering commitment to his students continue to inspire many.
Siti Normala Adrus, or Mak Jah, operates a humble food stall offering RM3 nasi campur and free meals for students every Tuesday, in memory of her late family members. Guided by compassion rather than profit, she ensures nutritious food remains accessible to lower-income communities, serving as a pillar of support to those in need.
Promoting Malaysia through National Photography Tour & Global Exhibition 2026
In support of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign, HONOR will launch a National Photography Tour aimed at showcasing Malaysia’s landscapes, cultural heritage and everyday stories through mobile photography. The programme invites photographers to explore popular destinations, workshops, and on-ground activities. Attractive works will be showcased internationally during the HONOR Global Exhibition 2026. Recruitment will begin soon; stay tuned to the HONOR Malaysia official Facebook page for updates.
As HONOR enters its next chapter in Malaysia, the brand remains focused on building meaningful technology experiences together with consumers, while contributing positively to the communities it serves. For more information, please visit the HONOR Malaysia official Facebook page.
