— On 16 August, Dr. Danyi Ma, founder of Global Art & Culture, officially completed her 2026 world music tour, concluding the European leg with a performance at the historic Wiener Musikverein Golden Hall in Vienna on August 16, 2026. The international tour spanned China, the United States, and Europe, bringing opera, orchestral music, and cultural exchange to audiences across three continents.
A soprano, scholar and cultural exchange advocate, Dr. Ma is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Opera Performance at The Catholic University of America and graduate studies in Museum Studies and Arts Management at Harvard University. Her artistic work combines classical vocal performance with an academic interest in culture, arts, and international exchange.
Known for a voice marked by dramatic intensity, expressive range and strong stage presence, Dr. Ma has performed numerous leading operatic roles, including Violetta in La Traviata, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Alcina in Alcina, Elettra in Idomeneo and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. Her repertoire extends across multiple languages and musical traditions.
The 2026 world tour began in China, where Dr. Ma appeared on major stages in Beijing and collaborated with leading Chinese conductors and professional orchestras, including the Beijing Aegis Symphony Orchestra and the Beijing Philharmonic Orchestra. Her China engagements included performances at Zhongshan Music Hall and Beijing Concert Hall, as well as a Beijing television New Year Gala program.
The tour continued in the United States with a Young Artist Program concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ma received a full scholarship and financial support from the Kennedy Center for the project, further connecting her artistic career with her commitment to international cultural exchange.
The European leg began in Germany, where Dr. Ma performed with the Cologne Symphony Orchestra, followed by Romania, where she collaborated with the Arad Philharmonic Orchestra at the Arad Cultural Palace as part of an official cultural program.
The tour officially concluded on August 16, 2026, in Vienna, Austria, where Dr. Ma performed with the Arad Philharmonic Orchestra at the historic Wiener Musikverein Golden Hall, marking the final performance of her 2026 world tour.
A World Premiere of Jasmine Flower in Vienna
The Vienna performance marked a major artistic milestone with the world premiere of a new symphonic arrangement of Jasmine Flower (Mo Li Hua), specially created for Dr. Ma by Chinese-American composer Duke Tang.
The new orchestral arrangement brought one of China’s best-known traditional melodies into the European classical concert tradition. Performed at the Wiener Musikverein, the work created a musical dialogue between Chinese cultural heritage and European orchestral tradition, making the performance a defining cultural-exchange moment of the world tour.
Throughout the tour, Dr. Ma performed opera arias and art songs in Chinese, English, German, French and Italian, presenting works from diverse linguistic and musical traditions to audiences across China, the United States and Europe.
From Beijing to Washington, D.C., and from Germany and Romania to Vienna, the tour reflects Dr. Ma’s continuing belief that music can transcend language and geography, creating a shared space for cultural understanding and human connection.
As founder of Global Art & Culture, Dr. Ma continues to develop international performance opportunities, cultural exchange programs, and cross-border artistic collaborations, supporting artists and connecting cultural institutions and audiences across the world.
