Chair of the Audit Committee remembered for his leadership, judgment, and dedication to the Company

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 28, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The FireFly Robotics, Inc. team (“FireFly” or the “Company”) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Paul Richardson, an independent member of the Company’s Board of Directors and Chair of its Audit Committee. Paul passed away unexpectedly in June.

Paul was an important part of FireFly and made a lasting contribution to the Company during his time on the Board. He joined FireFly at an important point in its history and gave generously of his time and experience as the Company grew and prepared for the transition from a privately held business to a public company.

As Chair of the Audit Committee, Paul worked closely with management, the Company’s auditors, and advisors. He was actively involved in FireFly’s financial reporting, audit process, internal controls, and corporate governance. He took the responsibility seriously and was never afraid to ask a difficult question, challenge an assumption, or spend additional time working through an issue. At the same time, Paul understood the realities of building and growing a business and brought a practical perspective to every discussion.

“Paul cared about FireFly and the people here,” said Andrew Limpert, CEO of FireFly Robotics. “He wasn’t someone who simply showed up for Board meetings. He invested his time in understanding our business, our challenges and what we were trying to accomplish. He was thoughtful, dependable, and always willing to help. We benefited greatly from his experience and judgment, and his passing is a tremendous loss for all of us.”

Paul also developed close working relationships with members of FireFly’s management team. He made himself available whenever he was needed, whether for a scheduled Board or Audit Committee meeting, a call to work through an accounting or governance issue, or simply to provide another perspective on a difficult decision.

“Over the past two years, Paul and I spoke regularly, often every other week and sometimes more frequently,” said Lindsay Jones, Chief Financial Officer of FireFly Robotics. “Those conversations were about much more than checking the boxes of an Audit Committee Chair. Paul wanted to understand what was happening in the business and how he could help. He asked good questions, gave straightforward advice, and was always available when I needed to talk through something. I came to rely on his judgment and, more importantly, I came to consider him a friend. I will miss him very much.”

Paul’s influence at FireFly extended well beyond his formal responsibilities. He brought experience, common sense, and a steady presence to the Board. He believed in what FireFly was building and wanted to see the Company and its employees succeed.

The FireFly Board of Directors and management team are grateful for everything Paul gave to the Company. His leadership, friendship, and many contributions will not be forgotten. He helped guide FireFly through an important time in our history, and he will always have a permanent place in FireFly’s legacy.

Most importantly, our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Paul’s wife, Joy, his sons, Douglas and Brandon, and the entire Richardson family. We know the loss we feel at FireFly cannot compare to theirs, and we are grateful to them for the time Paul shared with all of us.
