Amazon has cut $200 from the listed price of the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air configured with 24GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD, bringing it to $1,599. Wccftech describes the offer as the model’s lowest price on Amazon; the retailer’s discount on this configuration gives buyers a lower entry price for the higher-memory, higher-storage version, though deal terms can change.
The discounted configuration combines Apple’s M5 chip, with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, with 24GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage. Wccftech reports that other 13-inch M5 MacBook Air configurations are also discounted, by $150, with prices starting at $1,449.99. The article does not specify the exact memory and storage combination for each of those lower-priced listings.
The laptop has a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, two Thunderbolt ports, MagSafe charging, a headphone jack, Touch ID and a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, according to Wccftech’s product description. Apple rates battery life at up to 18 hours; that is a manufacturer rating, not a guarantee of how long every buyer will get in everyday use. The Air’s fanless design also means it does not use a cooling fan.
Wccftech presents the 24GB-and-1TB model as a configuration suited to larger photo libraries, video projects and multitasking. Those are use cases, not independent performance test results. The article also notes that unified memory cannot be upgraded after purchase, making the configuration choice relevant to buyers planning to keep the laptop for several years. It does not provide benchmark data or a direct comparison with other laptops.

A Lower Price for More Memory
The discount reduces the up-front cost of a configuration with 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage, two specifications buyers cannot expand in the same way as external storage after purchase. For people who expect to keep many files on the laptop or run memory-intensive workloads, that capacity may matter more over time than the headline processor specification alone.
The deal also creates a price choice within the MacBook Air range: pay $1,599 for the higher-capacity model or consider other configurations listed from $1,449.99. The difference is not only the discount size; buyers should compare the precise memory and storage included in each listing before deciding. The reported $200 saving is tied to this Amazon offer, not a permanent change to Apple’s pricing.
For everyday users, the Air’s light weight, silent fanless operation and stated battery life may be as relevant as its chip. But the value of the discount depends on the buyer’s needs and the price shown at checkout. No information provided establishes how long the offer will last or whether it is available to every shopper.
What the M5 Configuration Includes
The M5 MacBook Air configuration in the deal is described as a 13-inch model with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, 24GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD. Wccftech also lists a weight of roughly 2.7 pounds, a four-speaker system with spatial audio and modern wireless connectivity. These specifications help explain the product’s appeal to people seeking a portable computer, but the reported discount itself is an Amazon retail offer.
Memory and storage are fixed at purchase: Wccftech warns that the unified RAM is not upgradeable. The SSD provides local space for applications and files, but the listing does not say that buyers will never need external storage or cloud services. The article’s comparison with smaller-capacity drives reflects a general storage consideration rather than a measured claim about how quickly a particular buyer will fill a drive.
Wccftech disclosed that it may earn a commission if readers buy through an affiliate link. That commercial relationship is relevant when interpreting its recommendation of the product and its deal coverage. The stated price and discount should be checked against Amazon’s live listing before purchase.

Deal Terms May Change
The reported $1,599 price and $200 reduction reflect the Amazon listing covered by Wccftech, but the provided information does not establish how long the offer will remain available. Amazon prices, stock and eligibility can change, and the final price may differ at checkout. The article does not provide a timestamp for when the listing was checked.
It is also not clear which specific configurations qualify for the $150 discount, beyond the report that other M5 MacBook Air versions are marked down and start at $1,449.99. Buyers should confirm the memory, storage, seller, condition and delivery terms on the individual product page. No independent tests or detailed comparisons are provided to quantify real-world performance or battery life.
Check the Live Amazon Listing
Anyone considering the offer should check Amazon’s current product page for the price, stock and exact configuration before placing an order. In particular, compare the 24GB-memory, 1TB-storage model with the lower-priced configurations, since the $150-off listings may have different specifications. The reported discount is a retail promotion, and no end date is given.
Further details to watch for are whether Amazon maintains the listed price and whether the other configurations remain available at their reported starting price. The information available does not point to a separate Apple announcement or a change to the laptop itself; the development is the retailer’s reported discount.
