Architect Samira Rathod and designers Johan Ejdemo, Matt Scullin and Zoe Lowres have joined this year’s judging panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.
Dezeen Awards, in partnership with Bentley, will close its search for the world’s best architecture, interiors and design in just two days.

Samira Rathod is the founder of Samira Rathod Design Atelier
Indian architect Rathod, who founded architecture firm Samira Rathod Design Atelier, will join architect Mariam Issoufou and Stirling Prize winner Niall McLaughlin on the architecture panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.
Known for her playful and eclectic approach to architecture, Rothad has gained international recognition for large-scale projects spanning housing, skyscrapers and masterplans, alongside her designs for furniture and art installations.
Notable examples include an experimental concrete house in the town of Alibag, a school featuring irregular vaulted roofs in Gujarat and a house in Bharuch designed for cooling during hot Indian summers.
Johan Ejdemo is the global design manager for Swedish furniture brand IKEA
The global design manager for Swedish furniture brand IKEA, Ejdemo will be joining designer Caroline Till on the sustainability panel.
With over 30 years of experience in design and product development, Ejdemo aims to strengthen IKEA’s identity and sustainable principles, supporting its ambition to become a circular business by 2030.
He has collaborated on innovative projects, including the IKEA PS collection, designed by Front and Hella Jongerius. Notably, Ejdemo’s research into flat-packing techniques led to IKEA’s revolutionary wedge dowel system.
Matt Scullin is the CEO of biotech company MycoWorks
Joining this year’s sustainability panel is Scullin, the CEO of biotech company MycoWorks, which specialises in mycelium materials.
Scullin has worked with luxury brands, including fashion label Hermès, to reimagine its Victoria shopper bag using a mycelium alternative to leather that is vegan and biodegradable.
Recently, MycoWorks collaborated with Studio TOOJ on a series of furniture draped in the company’s pioneering mushroom biomaterial, which was exhibited during Milan design week.
Zoe Lowres runs the creative and strategic direction for project management platform Programa
Lowres, a former interior designer and co-founder of project management platform Programa, will sit alongside Rathod on the architecture judging panel.
Founded in 2020 alongside designers Traviss Orr and Claudio Oyarce, Programa has become a global online platform that streamlines project management and specification for design professionals in over 85 countries.
Lowres, who runs the platform’s creative and strategic direction, leads innovations in AI to enhance productivity and collaboration across the design ecosystem. Interior design practice Smac Studio recently used the Progama platform to outfit a duplex in Australia with blue-toned stone.
