The Peel Trident, built between 1965 and 1966 on the Isle of Man, is one of the smallest cars ever produced.
With its clear bubble dome, compact frame, and seating for two, it looked more like a toy spaceship than a car. Powered by a 49cc engine, it reached a modest top speed of 28 mph, perfectly suited for navigating tight city streets. Marketed as “the terrestrial flying saucer,” it captured imaginations with its futuristic charm. Though only about 45 were made, the Trident remains a cult icon of 1960s design and microcar innovation.
