Fashion house Issey Miyake has designed collapsible footwear for shoe brand Camper, which demonstrates how a single piece of fabric can support the foot.
The Peu Form collection is a merging of Mallorcan brand Camper‘s classic Peu shoe and the Japanese fashion house‘s signature concept “a piece of cloth”.
Developed by the late designer Miyake in 1997, it refers to garments that are cut out of a single piece of fabric to minimise waste and highlight the three-dimensional potential of cloth.

Designed by Issey Miyake creative director Satoshi Kondo for Autumn Winter 2025/26, the Peu Form collection features a mule and an ankle boot.
In typical Issey Miyake fashion, both shoe designs were crafted from a single piece of supple Italian leather.
The result is collapsible footwear that drapes and supports the foot when worn, but can be easily stored.

“The shoes envelope the foot like a second skin,” explained Issey Miyake.
“Both styles are defined by flexibility and an unstructured construction that adapts to each individual wearer,” added the fashion house.

Each shoe features a footbed and outsole made from a combination of polyurethane and 20 per cent recycled thermoplastic polyurethane.
The collection was designed in four colourways: neutral black and white, Camper’s trademark red and the globally recognised International Klein Blue, first mixed in the 1950s by French artist Yves Klein.
According to the fashion house, Peu Form highlights both brands’ shared histories of meticulous craft and a sense of playfulness, despite their different backgrounds.
“The result is a sensuous, organic silhouette that draws from the heritage of both brands,” said Issey Miyake.

During April’s Milan design week, the fashion house presented a pleated lighting collection that was also created using its “a piece of cloth” concept.
Earlier this year, Camper unveiled a modular trainer formed from six parts that can be easily assembled and disassembled.
