This just in from Roger Law, the co-creator and master caricaturist of the Spitting Image satiric puppet hit U.K. television show, which originally ran from 1984–1996. He writes in a recent email, “We are doing the most filthy Spitting Image on U-Tube. It’s called ‘Spitting Image Presents: The Rest is Bullshit.’ It is aimed at late teens, early 20s. The numbers are encouraging. It is also on all of those shows, whose names I can’t remember for young people. It is fun to do, especially, as I am still in my late teens.”

What prompted this revival of Spitting Image?
Satire does not change much, but the state of the world does. It is good to have the odd laugh in troubled times, don’tcha think?
Is this version really directed at kids?
The show is directed at late teens, early 20s. The rude sketches only went out on YouTube. Oddly enough the political sketches (e.g., the Zelensky song and Trump/Starmer) that go out on TikTok, Instagram, etc., get the most watches and comments. The British young are well-aware of what Trump is up to and hate it!
Do you feel that Trump is the ideal character for caricature?
Not ideal but he is so obnoxious he has forced me back to work, which I really could do without at 84—but it is fun!
Will there be more episodes coming?
It is planned to put more episodes out in September.
Are we going to be stuck with Trump’s puss forever?
We are going to be stuck with Trump much longer than either you or I care for in our latter years! I would just like him (along with my cancer) to disappear …
