Dezeen Showroom: Australian design brand Bankston Architectural has published a selection of its latest door knobs, pulls and handles on Dezeen Showroom.
Part of Bankston Architectural‘s wider The Streaks collection, this chunky door pull, named Wide Guy, has a blocky form culminating in a dovetail-shaped bottom.
Wide guy has a broad silhouette
The range is the result of a collaboration with Australian interior design studio YSG, and is characterised by a trio of colourways comprising bands of naturally colourful timbers.
Wide Guy aims to make a feature of door pulls, which are often overlooked in interiors yet present an opportunity for characterful details within interior spaces.
H04 Pull Handle Long
The result of a collaboration between Bankston Architectural and US design studio Civilian, this handle comprises domed ends connected by parallel metal bars.
H04 Pull Handle Long takes cues from art deco architecture, with its distinctive components available in various metal, stone, wood and powder coated finishes.
The Kooky Streaker has a 45-degree tilt
This door lever is also part of The Streaks, sharing the rest of the range’s colour combinations in a playful, diagonally-poised orientation.
Kooky Streaker comprises a lever mounted at a 45-degree angle on a disc-shaped wall plate.
Zzziggurat recalls ancient Mesopotamian architecture
The brand referenced ziggurats – a form of pyramid built in ancient Mesopotamia – when creating this compact yet characterful door knob.
Zzziggurat has a stacked, stepped silhouette and comes in various metallic finishes, creating tactile and eye catching yet practical knobs for doors and cupboards.
The Sensible Streaker door pull is strikingly colourful
Sensible Streaker is also part of the The Streaks. It has a pentagonal cross section resulting in a tactile spine that stretches down its long length.
Like the wider collection, it comes in three colour combinations: Light Band, made up of American White Ash and Australian Blackbutt; Dark Band, comprising American Walnut and Australian Red Cedar; and Colour Band, containing New Zealand Purple Heart and African Padauk.
Its simple design allows the solid timber banding to take centre stage
