The founder of Heidrun Weiss developed her methodology after years of working with difficult horses, transferring techniques from nonviolent equine training into an eight-principle system to achieve business results collaboratively and efficiently.
Weiss’s background sets her apart in the leadership development sector. Starting as an engineer, she then became a certified executive coach and an instructor of the world-famous horse whisperer Monty Roberts, recognizing parallels between guiding resistant horses and managing teams under pressure. Horses, as prey animals, will follow only those they perceive as trustworthy. This biological imperative translates directly to organizations where employees choose whether to commit their discretionary effort based on their leader’s credibility.
Traditional management methods struggle in today’s fragmented work environments. Recent data indicate that only 32% of leaders express confidence in senior executives, with trust deficits leading to resistance to change initiatives and the adoption of new technologies. Control-based systems reach their limits when team members work across time zones and physical locations. Weiss offers an alternative through WINARO®, which provides business leaders with tools to command attention, communicate clearly, claim responsibility, create a safe environment, grant autonomy, maintain focus, think creatively, and establish mutual trust. Companies like Swisscom already benefit from this approach.
The WINARO® concept enables business leaders to evaluate their current trust ratings using a scoring system that assesses both leader and employee perspectives. This assessment provides concrete numbers, indicating whether leadership practices require adjustment, thereby removing guesswork from relationship-building efforts.
Weiss detailed these principles in her book „Führen mit der Kraft des Vertrauens” (Leading with the Power of Trust), published by Springer in 2025. Several thousand copies were sold within the first month of release, demonstrating strong market demand for practical guidance on this topic.
“My goal is to give business leaders a tool to consciously cultivate trust — as a management strategy, rather than leaving it to coincidence,” Weiss said.
Her keynote presentation, which earned finalist recognition in Germany’s largest speakers’ association’s Newcomer Competition, uses vivid examples from her equine work to demonstrate how trust accelerates results, minimizes conflict, and creates conditions for creative problem-solving. The presentation, available for corporate events and conferences, shows how these principles produced measurable outcomes.
The methodology has attracted attention, as research indicates that leaders in supportive, trust-rich environments perform 10 times better than those lacking senior management backing and experience 3 times less chronic stress. Organizations implementing trust-centered practices report that senior leadership credibility becomes particularly critical when introducing technological changes, with trusted executives facing 2.8 times less resistance to AI implementation.
Weiss has held certifications as a Monty Roberts instructor since 2009, received the Hans Peter Frey Foundation Prize for educational achievements in 2012, and maintains Professional Certified Coach (PCC) status through the International Coaching Federation. She performed in the international Monty Roberts tour in front of thousands of people and currently lectures at the University of Zurich, where she co-developed the officially recognized CAS program “Equine Assisted Learning.”
