Five architecture and design events in July from Dezeen Events Guide

The RA Summer Exhibition and New Designers are among the architecture and design events featured in Dezeen Events Guide this July.

Other events taking place during the month include The Modern Concrete Skyscraper, More than Human and Isan Creative Festival.

The Modern Concrete Skyscraper
1 March to 18 October, USA

Located at The Skyscraper Museum in New York City, this exhibition explores the use of reinforced concrete in modern, high-rise buildings.

Co-curated by architectural historians Thomas Leslie and Carol Willis, the exhibition addresses the history of concrete used to create skyscrapers through architectural models and photography.

RA Summer Exhibition
17 June to 17 August, UK

The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) hosts its annual Summer Exhibition, with the 2025 iteration showcasing 1,700 artworks, including paintings, films, sculpture, architectural works, photography and prints.

The event takes place in the main galleries and highlights work by upcoming and established artists, designers and architects.

Isan Creative Festival
28 June to 6 July, Thailand

Over nine days, a programme of events is celebrating arts and crafts, design, food and performance in Khon Kaen, Thailand, and the surrounding Isan region.

The festival presents exhibitions, talks, live performances, workshops and tours, which are predominantly located in five main venues: TCDC Khon Kaen, Focus Arena, Colombo Creative District, Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid Hotel and Sawathi Community.

New Designers
2 to 12 July, UK

New Designers is a graduate exhibition and fair returning to London‘s Business Design Centre, spotlighting projects by more than 3,000 students across fashion, jewellery, furniture making, product design and illustration.

This year marks the fair’s 40th edition, with New Designers’ alumni hosting talks throughout the event to celebrate.

The fair takes place over two weeks, with the first exhibition taking place from 2 to 5 July and the second from 9 to 12 July.

More than Human
11 July to 5 October, UK

London’s Design Museum hosts More than Human, an exhibition presenting design, art and science projects that explore how design can support diverse life forms.

Over 140 projects from around 50 artists, architects and designers are on display, each demonstrating a new way of supporting the planet and its plants, animals and other living creatures.
