“I recommend Font Karuta not only for type geeks but also for people who are tired of the usual card games.
The game is played by three or more players. There are two types of cards: cards with the name and description of the typeface, and cards with only the letterforms printed on them. One person reads the description card, while others compete to take the letter cards, which are placed randomly on the table. The person who takes the most cards wins.“
Creative Type Director Akira Kobayashi has over four decades of experience, an extensive background in Japanese typeface design, and is a 2022 TDC Medal and Keinosuke Sato Award winner.
