Dezeen Showroom: US textile company Designtex has released Mosaic, a maximalist textile with a geometric pattern created by London-based design studio Kapitza.
Mosaic‘s bold and playful pattern was designed to resemble mosaic tiles. It can be used to upholster soft furnishings such as chairs and sofas.

The textile comes in the choice of five colourways and three patterns, which are digitally printed onto durable fabric made from 100 per cent polycarbonate-based polyurethane.
The design reflects Kapitza‘s fascination with geometry, which the studio explained is the starting point for all its work.
The material features a large-scale maximalist design
“We hope our textiles spark inspiration – becoming the foundation from which entire colour stories unfold,” said Kapitza. “Each palette is crafted with intention, blending soft, muted tones with vibrant highlights to offer both harmony and contrast.”
“Designed to be versatile, these colours invite designers to echo them across surfaces, creating spaces that feel cohesive, expressive, and full of character,” Kapitza continued.
Mosaic marks the second time that Designtex and Kapitza have collaborated, after the two brands launched their first co-designed textile CrissCross in 2018.
