Dezeen Showroom: Australian designer Jason Ju and DesignByThem have created a modular seating system made up of rounded marshmallow-like modules, which is launching during 3 Days of Design.
The Sundae modular lounge continues the exaggeratedly rounded, bulbous aesthetic of its lounge chair predecessor but applies it to a scalable and adaptable seating solution comprised of individual modules.

The seating system is made from commercial-grade materials including high-resilience foam and FSC-certified plywood, both of which make it suitable for contract environments.
“Sundae was all about designing comfort into the aesthetic, to create a range that immediately comes across as welcoming and calming but built internally to withstand both commercial spaces as well as living rooms,” said Ju.
Original configurations can be assembled using a mixture of the five modules
There is a choice of four preset configurations in the Sundae seating system. Alternatively, original layouts can be created using a combination of five different modules.
Sundae is available in a range of Kvadrat and Maharam fabrics.
It will be exhibited during 3 Days of Design 2025 at Galleri Susanne Ottesen from 18 to 20 June.
