The Daily Heller: Tanks for the Monarchy (Not!)

  • by

The president (underscore President) celebrates his aging body (and the Army’s 250th founding anniversary) on June 14 with a massive parade. But as lethal machinery tears up D.C. streets on Trump’s birthday, protesters will gather everywhere and anywhere around the country in opposition of his monarchical aspirations, questionable decrees and anti-democratic tendencies.

To help the gatherings and marches, various ad hoc groups and individuals have made signs and placards that are easy to download and use. The main organizing arm NO KINGS has a detailed toolkit here, including graphic ordinance, as well as important information regarding purpose, behavior and safety.

Others are offering additional materials: On Tyranny author Timothy Snyder is providing his Twenty Lessons From the Twentieth Century on shareable cards and posters. And Steve Brodner is using his Substack to distribute artists’ posters, including ones by Jim McMullan, Nancy Stahl and Chris Piascik.

Of course, original handmade signs are always welcome. This is, after all, a grassroots event to protest the weed king who is trying to strangle democracy.

And while you’re marching, hold up Edel Rodriguez’s latest flame … and Mirko Ilic’s “rump” logo.
