Apart from major religious texts, arguably the most read, viewed and recited books of all time are the collected stories of Mother Goose. The origins of Mother Goose and her famous rhymes may not be entirely known, but what can be accepted as truth is Ms. Goose’s ubiquity, from which so many tales and characters have emerged.
Mother Goose has been illustrated by scores of artists over the past few hundred years. But most unique of the batch is A Typographer’s Mother Goose (Corraini Edizioni) by Louise Fili. Each character is represented by a single type character or initial, all of which are good examples of Fili’s penchant for vintage lettering.
