It Took Over 500 Hours to Complete This Amazingly Lifelike Wool Felt Dog

  • by

Japanese artisan Terumi Ota dedicated over 500 hours to crafting a hyper-realistic wool felt model of a Miniature Pinscher, capturing the attention of social media with over 32,000 likes on X.

Achieving the dog’s lifelike appearance, especially its short hair, required combining different wools and meticulous placement with a needle, a task spread intermittently over seven years amidst other commissions. This model, notable for its realism in representing a short-haired breed, is among Ota’s most remarkable works, alongside a realistic 180 cm tall white elephant sculpture, celebrated for its detailed woolly wrinkles and anatomy.
