Petite Friture will showcase its collections at BDNY this month

Petite Friture said its products on display at the event will demonstrate the brand’s “unconventional design” ethos.

“Our pieces are born of a free-thinking creative process, they radically yet gently occupy the space they are given,” said Petite Friture founder and art director Amélie du Passage. “They bring a touch of the unordinary to the ordinary.”

“They curve around the rulebook,” continued du Passage. “We produce objects that challenge the status quo, that make us smile, that force us to stop and think, that creates a space where we rethink the world.”

Vertigo Nova pendant lights designed by Constance Guisset will be on display

The Petite Friture lines being shown at BDNY include pieces from its Vertigo Nova lighting and Francis furniture and accessory collections, both designed by long-time collaborator Constance Guisset.

In Vertigo Nova, LEDs are mounted in a sphere of blown glass, producing a soft, dimmable light.

Francis mirrors and glass tables designed by Guisset will also feature

The Francis mirrors and glass tables seek to mimic the effects and patterns caused by painters’ brushes resting in water and were made by Constance Guisset who created watercolour artworks and then digitally edited them.

Also on display will be a new wallpaper collection designed by Amsterdam-based Carole Baijings, a fluorescent twist on classic French striped wallpaper.

Hoff is a modular furniture collection designed by Mortens & Jonas

A modular furniture collection designed by Norwegian studio Mortens & Jonas is among the other pieces set to be showcased.

Named Hoff, it comprises stools and armchairs that can be combined to form a sofa and that are upholstered in Kvadrat fabrics or custom textiles.

Petite Friture’s stand will also showcase its Weekend outdoor furniture collection

The Weekend outdoor furniture range by Studio BrichetZiegler made up of stackable chairs and a table, will also be on display, as well as a wooden edition of the Fromme furniture collection by Tom Chung.

Playful Neotenic lamps designed by American studio Jumbo and the portable Quasar light by Samy Rio will complete the showcase.

The stand will demonstrate how the products can be used in commercial, hospitality or residential settings. Established in 2010, Petite Friture places an emphasis on promoting and nurturing talented designers, both French and international.

“At Petite Friture, we believe in the free-spirited. In those talents with puff: the designers and creatives who design for us exclusive products,” said du Passage. “Our job is to cherry-pick and provide them with the space they need to express their skill.”

Petite Friture’s stand at BDNY 2023 will be in Booth 3107. Those with enquiries should contact Petite Friture US vice president Richard Figueroa.
