Dezeen Showroom: Australian designer Alexander Lotersztain and his brand Derlot have combined acoustic properties with adaptable seating for work and school environments in the Plega stool and benches.
Made of Autex Acoustics’ CubeTM material – a thick felt sound-dampening panel – the Plega collection features an appealing and practical design that folds up and slots together from flat-pack.
The Plega stools and benches provide both seating and acoustic dampening
The cuboid stools and benches are designed to be used as flexible furniture items in dynamic settings, where the lightweight seats can be grouped together quickly for team huddles and activities.
The CubeTM panels are made of compressed polyester felt with 60 per cent recycled content, and Plega comes with certifications by WELL, LEED, Green Star and BREEAM for its high environmental performance.
The seats are assembled from flat panels
“Beyond sustainability, these stools and benches encapsulate a harmonious blend of adaptability and form, catering to the dynamic requirements of educational and corporate spaces,” said Derlot.
The Plega seating is available in a curated selection of soft or muted colours, and both adult and kid sizes are available.
